Halloween Parties

Please see notes sent home from individual classrooms for exact party information, but here is the general school information regarding class parties:

  • Students may bring costumes to school (but not wear them to school)
  • Parents may arrive anytime after 1 PM. Please do not disrupt classrooms before this time.
  • Please park in the bottom lot and to the left of the Rail Trail (West Union Bank side). We cannot cause bus delays by parking in the bus loop and weather permitting, our students will be walking in the parade along the right side of the Rail Trail.
  • Parade will begin about 1:30 PM.. Classroom parties will immediately follow.
  • If costumes include fake weapons, please do not bring these items to school.
  • Pre-K will Parade/party on Thurs. the 27th
  •  K-5 will Parade/party on Fri. the 28th
Pennsboro Trick-or-Treat will be held Sat. Oct 29th from 5:30-7:00 PM.

Book Fair/Family Night

The CCES Book Fair will run Mon. 24th – Fri. 28th. Tuesday we will open up in the afternoon/evening for a family reading night. Families can sit and read together in our “Reading Corner”, create book marks and enjoy refreshments from 5PM. to 7 PM. We will also hold a 10 minutes Confidentiality Training for School Volunteers. We hope to see you there!

Red Ribbon Poster Contest

We will be holding a Poster Contest for Red Ribbon Week. Any student wishing to submit a poster should do so by Thursday Oct. 20th.

Any of the following themes can be incorporated into your poster…

  • “Red Rally”
  • “Being Drug Free is all about Cans… I CAN, YOU CAN, WE CAN!”
  • “Get Drugs out of hair”
  • “Combat Drugs”  or “Fight Against Drugs”
  • “Hugs Not Drugs”
  • “Hooked on Books, Not Drugs”
Posters can be 8×10  to Poster Board sized.

Announcements: Week of Oct.10th.

  • Today, Friday Oct. 7th, Report Cards will be going out with your students. Please sign and return as early as possible. 
  • There will be No School Monday Oct. 10th for Students. Teachers and Staff will report.
  • Tuesday Oct. 11th is Fall Picture Day. Money for packages are due up front. Extra order forms can be found in the office. ALL students and staff will have their photo taken this day for the CCES Yearbook. 
  • The Halloween Committee meeting for Wed. Oct. 12th has been rescheduled to Monday Oct. 17th.
  • The Cardinal Awards will be announced / awarded Friday Oct. 14th for grades K-5. All Parents/ Guardians of students receiving  the Cardinal of the 6th Weeks will receive a phone call.

Report Cards Day- Oct.

Report Cards are set to go out on Oct. 7th, 2011.  The 1st grading period ends on Thursday Sept. 29th, the 2nd grading period will begin on the 30th. Students grades can be viewed by logging on to our grading system : Livegrades.  If your student is new this year, please be patient as we get account information to you regarding the Livegrade system. Please contact your child’s teacher with any questions.

Fall Picture Day

Lifetouch Studios will be at CCES on Oct. 11th to take fall pictures. 

Please mark your calendars and remember this is the Tuesday we come back to school from a 3-Day weekend! Fall Pictures are the photos that go in our CCES yearbook so EVERY student, regardless of purchase, will be taking their picture. Anyone wishing to purchase pictures, must provide forms and payment on Oct. 11th. Lifetouch order forms will be sent home the week of Oct. 3rd. Preschoolers who do not have school on Tuesdays, may come in (between 8:00AM-12:00PM) or wait until Picture RETAKE day which held Thurs. Nov. 3rd, 2011.

Also- Students will be receiving their Smile Safe Identification Cards.

Blood Drive @ CCES

The students of Creed Collins Elementary School are hosting a special American Red Cross blood drive and we need your participation!American Red Cross: Pint Size Heroes

Volunteers are NEEDED to sign-in donors. The Drive will be held on Sept. 23rd from 1:30 – 6:30.  Please contact Angela Trammell at CCES if you can help cover any hrs. between this time frame. (2 Hr shifts are needed!)

The project is Pint Size Heroes: a school Community Service project that teaches the children about saving lives by sponsoring blood drives. The program directly involves the participation of all students by inviting donors in order to become Pint Size Heroes.

The Educational Program features

  • Facts about blood and how it is used as medicine
  • Who gives blood
  • Who needs blood
  • What happens before, during and after a blood donation
  • The function of American Red Cross Blood Services
  • How the Red Cross protects the safety of the blood supply
  • How students can help with an upcoming blood drive

First Day for Preschool

Preschool students will start school on Monday Aug 29th. Preschool teachers will meet preschoolers in the gym before unpacking and going to the cafeteria for breakfast.  We can’t wait to meet you!
