Confidentiality

  • 1.confidentiality – the state of being secret; “you must respect the confidentiality of your client’s communications”

Syn: concealment, privateness, secrecy, privacy – the condition of being concealed or hidden

  • 2.confidentiality – discretion in keeping secret information

Syn: circumspection, discreetness, discretion, prudence – knowing how to avoid embarrassment or distress; “the staff showed great tact and discretion”

All school volunteers must understand and agree to the  Confidentiality Rules within Ritchie County Schools. The following is a Powerpoint presentation for Volunteers to view. A form will be sent home for each volunteer to sign that they agree to abide by the confidential requirements while in (and out) of the school. Any questions can be directed to your Parent Partner, Title I staff or Principal.
All Volunteers must attend a Training in some form (whether it be held at school, or through this website) before volunteering at any RC School. You can view the presentation below, or download it using the link at the bottom of this page.

February 2012 News

January came and went so quickly… (and we didn’t even have snow days!)

A few Reminders:

  • The STARS Program has started up again. Any student interested in participating may do so (even if you did not sign up in Sept.) Please see Mrs. Linville.
  • Write names in all winter clothing! Too many of these items end up in the Lost & Found and are never claimed.
  • The School Messenger Telephone system will call when school has delays or dismissals. Please make sure you have an updated phone number in our systems if you wish to receive these messages. (Phones with Telemarketer blocks will not accept the School Messenger system)
  • If you attend movie night, bring items to make it comfortable! We do have metal folding chairs, but blankets,camping chairs, bean bags, etc are all welcome.
  • On days with 2 Hour Delays, no breakfast will be served. Lunch times are still served at the normal times as full days.
  • Do not forget to send in Notes when your child has been absent. Please see  the Attendance Policy from the Creed Collins Handbook here.

No Classroom Parties for Dec.

We will not be having School-wide Classroom Christmas parties. We apologize for the note that went home stating parties on the 22nd. However, the 22nd will be a “Wear your PJ’s to School” Day and students will be watching The Polar Express movie in the gym.  The RC BOE announced at it’s Dec. 12th meeting that the 22nd will be an early dismissal. Students will be following a 2-Hr Early Dismissal schedule.

December 2011 News

December at CCESIt’s hard to believe 2011 is almost over, but not before a flurry of December activities!

The following events will be held during the month of Dec.

  • Friday Dec 2nd- Longaberger Basket Bingo- Doors open at 6PM. $20 for 20 games. The baskets themselves are worth $35-$100 and each is filled with $50-$100 worth of items!
  • PTO Meet first Monday- Dec 5th.
  • Thursday Dec. 8th -Christmas Program at CCES Gym for grades PK-2nd.
  •  Friday Dec. 9th- Christmas Program at CCES Gym for grades  3-5th.
  •  Monday Dec 12th- Friday Dec. 16th- Holiday Store. Students will be able to  purchase holiday gifts for family & friends during school hours. Volunteers are needed to help students find items for those on their list, as well as to help gift wrap.
  •  Friday Dec 16th- PTO Free Movie Night- Feature Title The Smurfs. 6PM.
  •  Tuesday Dec. 20th- A Schoolwide Field Trip to see The Muppets movie. Please see the permission slip that will be sent home soon.
  • Thursday Dec. 22nd-  Pajama Day- Wear your PJ’s to school! (At this time it is unknown if this will be 1/2 day of school) students will be watching Polar Express in the Gym.
  •  Friday Dec 23rd-January 2nd- No School.
  • Tuesday January 3rd- First Day of School in 2012!

Be sure to look for additional information to be sent home. Individual Classrooms may have Christmas Plays and/or gift exchange activities. 

Reminders:

  • It is the time of year that MANY items end up in the Lost & Found (coats, hats, gloves, etc…) PLEASE get names on these items, it is a shame how many have to find new owners after sitting in the L&F for weeks.
  • Bored kids on Snow Days? After getting out and playing in the snow, have them visit some of these school friendly sites, they will enjoy them! Click Here!

Thanksgiving Break

Students will be off school the week of Novemember 21st – 25th. Students will return to school on Monday Nov. 28th. Have a wonderful & safe holiday week!

Longaberger Basket Bingo

CCES will host a Longaberger Basket Bingo on Friday December 2nd.  Students will be sending home order forms to sell tickets the begining of November. Anyone who can help plan please contact PTO.

Halloween Parties

Please see notes sent home from individual classrooms for exact party information, but here is the general school information regarding class parties:

  • Students may bring costumes to school (but not wear them to school)
  • Parents may arrive anytime after 1 PM. Please do not disrupt classrooms before this time.
  • Please park in the bottom lot and to the left of the Rail Trail (West Union Bank side). We cannot cause bus delays by parking in the bus loop and weather permitting, our students will be walking in the parade along the right side of the Rail Trail.
  • Parade will begin about 1:30 PM.. Classroom parties will immediately follow.
  • If costumes include fake weapons, please do not bring these items to school.
  • Pre-K will Parade/party on Thurs. the 27th
  •  K-5 will Parade/party on Fri. the 28th
Pennsboro Trick-or-Treat will be held Sat. Oct 29th from 5:30-7:00 PM.

Book Fair/Family Night

The CCES Book Fair will run Mon. 24th – Fri. 28th. Tuesday we will open up in the afternoon/evening for a family reading night. Families can sit and read together in our “Reading Corner”, create book marks and enjoy refreshments from 5PM. to 7 PM. We will also hold a 10 minutes Confidentiality Training for School Volunteers. We hope to see you there!
