The state legislature has passed a safe schools bill with laws that apply to conduct in the classroom, on a school bus, on school property, and at all school sponsored events. Knives of any type are not to be brought to school.
Should a student bring a knife that is determined to be a “weapon” as defined by WV Code 61-7-2, the principal will suspend the student and recommend expulsion from school to the superintendent as required by state law 18A-5-1a.
